NGC 6888 Crescent Nebula in the Swan
NGC6888 also known as the Growing Nebula is about 4700 light years away from Earth.
The growing nebula is a Wolf-Rayet nebula, formed by the strong stellar wind originated by the Wolf-Rayet star HD 192163.
But in this image we can also see in the lower left a small bubble-shaped nebula, known as Soap Nebula.
For this image I have used data obtained with the narrowband filters Ha and OIII, combining them using the HOO palette, this palette allows us to obtain colors closer to what this nebula really has.
Image processed in Pixinsight.
Data obtained from the Deep Sky West robotic observatory located in Rowe, New Mexico, between May 16 and June 17, 2016.
