NGC 1272 in the Perseus Cluster: hundreds of galaxies in a single field

Some images are not just viewed… they are explored.

This field around NGC 1272 is one of those cases. What first appears to be stars quickly transforms into a swarm of galaxies. Each faint smudge is a complete universe.

In this image, I was able to capture over a hundred galaxies, many of them members of the Perseus Cluster. It’s hard not to pause and reflect on the scale—light traveling for hundreds of millions of years to reach a camera sensor.
